Blood & Honour Gig Reports ::   Blood & Honour Flanders

What started as a fundraising ballad evening evolved in YOUNGLAND’s PREMIER EUROPEAN CONCERT!

With my heart filled with pride and honour I look back to a perfect night. After weeks of stress, confusion and some desperate moments I am glad to inform you on our first concert, which definitely will be talked about for a long time.

We started with plans for a ballad evening, which soon changed to the idea of having a small, private concert with Legion A from France and two German bands. In the last week we had to cancel the German bands for reasons beyond our control, and desperately had to look for other bands that were willing to play on our introducing Blood & Honour Flanders concert. Our comrades in B&H Saar helped us out with a band from their area called Jungsturm. And in the last few days we got a surprising phone call from comrades of B&H Brandenburg with the question if we were interested in having USA rock ‘n rollers Youngland on our concert and so our program was settled. The first Blood & Honour Flanders gig was now a fact, with the fine bands Legion A, Jungsturm and Youngland on the program!

Because of the limited space in the hall we had to be careful with sending invitations, for avoiding our concert ending up in a chaos. It was too late to find another hall so we apologize to the many people that could not make it. Those who could make it, started meeting on the re- direction point and were systematically leaded to the place to be. Everything went fine and as on schedule, the hall was slowly filling up and soon it was time for the French band to prove their set on stage. They are a relative young band from the area of Lille, what makes this band special is the nice girl who is in the band, and she just happens to be the lead singer. Could it be better? They played a set from about one hour packed with own numbers, and covers from classical French RAC bands. When this band keeps going in the direction they are headed they will be one of the better French bands on the moment. Their set started with a few small mistakes and pretty stunned from the nerves and excitement but as soon as the audience began getting loose, the band followed and everything went ok! After their gig they were given opportunities for playing on future concerts in Germany so to all German comrades watch out for them in the future and give this band your support, this dedicated and generous band deserves it for a 100%!

The audience was pleased with the first band, and so the atmosphere in the hall was very good. When the band Jungsturm went on stage I didn’t know this band yet so I didn’t know what to expect but the excitement on the faces of the Germans spoke more than words, so we knew what we could expect. When their first song started we knew straight away that this was going to be a hammer of a set. They play more metal RAC with very great and aggressive vocals. If these guys don’t get you going you must be made of concrete! Their own songs blowing through the speakers varying with covers to please everyone: Landser, Tönstorung, Radikahl, Skrewdriver,…! The also covered the French classic "Vaincre" from Legion 88 and invited Francois from Legion A to come on stage to do the singing for this song. Watch out for their CD that will be officially released in about two weeks, they are a very good and professional band!

And then it was time for the completely unexpected lads from Los Angeles, USA: Youngland! For those who know their music know that this is White Power rock ‘n roll in the truest sense of the word! This band is definitely one of the best live bands around, they entertain the audience very good, make everyone having a laugh and make everyone having the time of their life by figurative smacking them on the heads with a fantastic set with the songs of their debut album "We Are United Again", and covers like "Hail Victory(including the intro "Diamonds In The Dust"!), "Wasted Life" by Ian Stuart, "Tomorrow Belongs To Me", "I Hate Commie Scum" (which made the crowd go nuts) and a great cover from the classic country song from John Denver "Take Me Home Country Road"! Even if you have to travel hours and hours to see this band performing, it is a must and you will not regret it for a second. What is really great too is seeing Wayne(bass), Scott(drums), Matt(guitar) and Ken(guitar and vocals) getting carried away with their music, it’s great to see when a band is really convinced and having the time of their life on stage. Unfortunately we had to ask them to quit around 0h30 due to an arrangement with the neighbors of the hall. But it was surely one hell of a show.

We couldn’t have imagined a better concert than this, especially not for our first one. Everything went great. No fights, no hassle from ZOG and it’s puppets! An evening of comradeship and making new friendships. An evening where our people could step out of the multi-racial nightmare for a night. Everybody seemed to have enjoyed the gig, everybody was nothing but surprised and satisfied about our first project, with many to follow. All the praise gave us enough support to never give in and to keep going the way we are going. Even the hall owner was full of praise for the great night and said we are welcome any time in the future! We do not need organizers of nothing more than musicals to do what we have got to do. Who cares when some popstars might not want to play? We know who we are, we know what we stand for and we know what we can do and we have great comrades that support us. We will never condone to our beliefs, we will never compromise due to some oppressive so- called "superiors". We can do our own thing, and we know which people are behind us. And this night proved it!

This was a night that will be talked of for a long time. It is our duty to hail our comrades who helped realizing this great concert which was on one moment close of getting canceled, but raised again to become one of the best gigs since years in Flanders! Our praises are headed at S. and "die besoffen seeman"(haha!) from B&H Brandenburg, O. from B&H Saar, Francois, Aurore and the rest of the band Legion A and of course Jungsturm and Youngland(going for a drink in the morning and returning with a pa system, that can only happen with Matt!).Thanks a lot comrades! Hail Victory! Whatever It Takes!

For Blood and Honour!
